Hello, and welcome to Platform Updates from research※mesh. Today is Tuesday, July 22, 2025, and this is your weekly look at what’s changed. This week, we have two updates to walk through. Alright, first up, we're testing a new feature called Summary Landing Pages. When you're in the newsletter, you'll now find an option to click a link to an expanded summary of a research article before jumping to the full text. All the old links, like the article title and image, will still take you directly to the full article. The purpose of these summary pages is to increase readability for a wider audience by defining terms and weeding out jargon. This feature also allows the newsletter to contain more information about each article without adding a lot of text to the issue itself. These pages are also designed to be sharable on social platforms. There are some limitations; due to copyright, the summary is generated only from open and public metadata, not the full article text, which can affect the depth of the overview. We are looking for feedback on this, so please let us know what you think by emailing us at info@researchmesh.com. Okay, our second item for this week is a new feature we’re calling Monthly Publication Snapshots. For newsletters that have been indexing publications for a while, a new link will appear in the footer for "last month's publications". This links to a list of all publications indexed during the previous calendar month, regardless of whether the newsletter is sent weekly or monthly. This provides a time-based view of output within a consistent window, which can support administrative tasks. It also helps capture publications that may have been missed by regular issues. A key detail is that this report is organized by the date our system first discovers an article, not the official publication date. Because an article can have multiple dates associated with it—from preprint to the final version—using our index date offers a consistent metric for reporting month-to-month. And that covers our updates for this week: the new Summary Landing Pages and the Monthly Publication Snapshots. One feature offers a different way to look at an individual article, while the other provides a wide view of all publications indexed over a month. As a reminder, we are looking for your feedback on the Summary Landing Pages. You can email any thoughts to us at info@researchmesh.com. That's all for now. Thank you for listening to Platform Updates.
